HI!!!

Testing went well! Too bad i have yet to discover how to make this blog alittle more pretty. Nevermind!! Yany!!! help meeee... ahhaha.

This blog is way overdue- pictures and lil tidbits of my journey in Pennsylvania. Nothing too crazy, just a lil diary for all who'ld care to read and in some way share this journey with me :) It'll be my pleasure! hope you'll like it and do leave comments/requests anytime!! Do take my comments lightly too because its all in jest.

Flight days and days with no ends and starts

I'll start off with how i got here. The flight to the US was agonizing. The cramped space on planes and the lack of entertainment or faulty entertainment equipment should be made legally punishable!! But at least I got here safely. :P I wrote stuff in my journal on the plane (since it was kinda weird to talk to people) and here are lil snippets that came from it...

'...so anyway, called home...right now it isnt so far away. Its like I can still go back anytime. I guesscan but what i mean is I dont feel that sad leaving as i thought i would. I am pretty psyched!'

'...a first plus to this trip! I met this girl from Singapore heading to toronto after our flight to minneapolis... She dis sec 1 and 2 in Cresent girls and...yes.. she does know rebecca! Small tiny Singapore!!

'...my feet feel like rice in ketupat or dumplings..snug and tighly wrapped. Wished i had worn better shoes! But these shoes make me look gd!!Hahah'

(about 1pm s'pore time, at Tokyo, Narita Airport)

'...omg i am so shagged., the time zones are wonky i swear!! Im wearing 2 watches - one spore and one US time..wherever in the US i may be. Its 2.24 am in sinagpore and 12.40 noon here. -.-I guess i will get something to eat buts its all burgers, wrap, grills and coffee...' (Minneapolis)

'Lost my phone... groan...State college is -16degrees , my feet hurt and i havent bathed :( But i met a nice man from florida who knew where singapore is!' (Detroit airport, 1030 am singapore time)

(picture)Detriot airport tunnel from concourse A to C. It changes colours as you walk through it and has this dreamy effect i think. I think it is to distract u from the whole distance u are walking! hhahaha. (picture taking skills are horrible, but i'll improve! promise!)

First Days in penn!

Touching down in Penn was firstly awe-ing. The visible hot steam of your breath in the air, the fresh cold air blowing at u... white floors. All is novel and just amazing. I was smiling to myself as i got off the plane! Then the cold truely hits u. It feels like crawling into the freezer section of the fridge!! Terrible! The taxi driver was really nice though. It was like a tour session, while he drove, he talked.. hahaha. :P

The day after i touched down, Leng Leng and Jeffrey, a couple from Singapore and studying here in Penn State Uni, took me under their care and brought me on a busride which proved really really useful now that Irving, Lilin and Xiaozhi are here and need to buy stuff. It was an awesome first day in Penn State. The sun ws shining and the weather was clear only with a lil wind - a state of which doesnt get much of this apparently. Its a sad case. Anyway, so I went on the bus routes, then to their house at White course apartments which overlooked a vast vast golfcourse. I saw hills all around and i was like WOW. love it. Leng Leng is very motherly and she really made sure i know the places, and the how to's in getting there. I am truely in her debt. Jeffrey is cool too. We talked about the educational system differences and yeah, hes a warm guy. Then their friends, Marlene and Bob came to pick us 3 up and headed down to Bloasburg. Its like a lil tourist town where the buldings are fashioned in true old school american countryside style. Love love it. We visited the man-made snow slopes (the make snow when there isnt enough snow fall here). There are skiing and snow boarding to do there and tubing as well (slide down in a tyre :P) I wanna try the latter!!) It was super cold though. Sunset was gorgeous. I wanna to ship everyone i love in singapore to come see it with me. The colours, the tress, the hills and the sky... amazing. So here are the pictures!

Then we went to Nitanny mall i think? and we went to Macy's! i saw vic secrets! hehe. Till next time. I have 5 months to shop here! hahaha. The bed rm slippers here are all so cute. Here is 1 just as a sample!
