BELLEFONTE!
So, the story goes.. we 3 were bored of staying in our campus and downtown so we decided to catch a bus to the lil quaint town of Bellefont. (Below is Irving fooling arnd like he always does). Talleyrand park was the highlight of our trip! The duckies were so adorable but it was so darn cold that feeding and takingt pictures hurt the fingers! So anyway, the architecture is pretty and i thought i'ld take a couple of pictures to show u all. The second best part of the trip was the thrift store we found! SOOOO HAPPY, coz i found my hairdryer and the lamp I desperately needed. :) So, enjoy the pictures and till more next time!

In downtown and Basketball match!
So... we went for the best Chinese food Penn State has to offer.. BIG BOWL! Quite nice I must say. They had awesome chilli so i was very happy! So anyway, below is the kind of sights u see as you walk along downtown. Nothing much but it will do. :)

Lilin and I!!

Lilin and I!!
My first Penn State bball match! It was really nice, cheerleaders, band and cheers all round. Hotdogs for only a dollar and everyone in white! Hahha. Penn state came close to winning but they screwed up at the end and got trassssshhheeeddd. hahaha. Sad sad. Wished i took more pictures but i got lazy. Hehe.
My room and my place. BEAVER HALL!
The furnished room! First day of move in!
Sorry for the terrible delay in blogging. Im so lazy coz the weather is just good to slack. Anyway, heres pictures of my dorm, Pollock. So me and my roomie Lilin started our first day there with MAKAN!! Breakfast at the dining commons is awesome. Hafnt been back since though because its just way too early, but I know i should. Its really yummy!

My internet is KAPUT!!
Hi!!
Internet functions on the laptop are all wonky now. Will try and get it fixed asap! Anyway a lil update on life here. No pics tho, so sorry...
1) ITS FREEZING! Its not like walking into a freezer.. its worse. it averages -7 to -10 here? when the wind blows you wonder why you are in the most inhospitable place on the planet (i heard it can bring the wethar down to -20?). Why did God have to cruse this land with such weather. The tropics are so blessed.
Walking REALLY fast really helps. Ducking in and out of heated buildings help too! HAHHA. I wear so many layers that if u cut me in half i'll be like the 9 layer cake at begawan solo. nyeheheh. And if u dun wear any gloves our anything to cover ur ears, the nerve endings cease to exist!! never try to dip bear hands in snow. You'll never get them back until 4 mins later.
So yeah. But it is truely beautiful.. I was out on night and the snow was falling.. I was looking up at the sky and letting the flakes fall on my face and oh boy.. it was so surreal. So so beautiful. I wished singapore had snow minus the cold. hahaha. The white that blankets everything, the crunch of snow under ur feet, the way snow catches in the wind when u throw it.. so so beautiful. :) i wished all of u were here.
2) I went to a basketball match! I'll try and get some pics off my roomie Lilin coz my cam batts died. It was so cool. So american. My school was playing against Michigan (top 10 college basketball team) - our team is ranked like 100++, anyway -we lost yes, but it was quite thrilling. The cheerleaders (guys and girls) and dancers at the side, the band (they belted out white stripes and akon!!), the spectators cheering out shared cheers as a whole, the hotdog mustard sandwich (only one dollar!!) and the wearing of the Penn state jersey.. oh so cool. Singapore should bring back the good old days of the M'sian cup.. nothing helps u feel more affiliated to anything like friendly sporting competition!! Pictures soon! promisE!!
3) Class: Class can be so freeking hilarious i swear. I have 2 classes that are seriously comical. Cant wait to do impersonations for all of u when i get back. U'll LAUGH! Too bad people are too polite here to laugh in class. hehe. But some classes can be dead boring. The thing here is that they would ideallyhave u read materials before class and then discuss it.. the disadvantage is that if students dont read and worse still, lecturers cant lead discussuions right, it can be pretty disappointing and fruitless. The thing here is though, they hardly talk in class when the teacher talks in lecture! So surprising! I guess its coz they are given ample opportunity to provide their opinions later.
Singaporean students should learn to talk more! i swear, if we just opened our mouths a lil, class can be quite interesting! hehe. Or dumb. depending. hehe. Entertaining non-theless!! Also, no mid terms of final exams! just... (eerie music cue)....CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT.....argh. there goes my aspirations to slaaaack. hehe.
4) Food is cheap and pretty darn good! US$3.85 for an all u can eat dinner...not bad eh!! hehe.. i can here the scales tipping already ;P
5) ive been craving fried omelette. And a proper bathroom. We bathroom is tiny (hang ur clothes on the door and it'll get drenched!) and the hotwater works weird. oh well. The tragedies of dorm living.. at least my neighbours are quite nice... Although one does bring her bf back often :P HAHAHA.
6) Some girls here are so pretty!!! Barbies come to life. Too bad i cant really take a pic of them w.o loking like a loony, but i'll try. Havent met drop dead gorgeous men, but i'll keep trying!! hahah. Also its so weird here sometimes.. u can pic out categories students come from -
(a) the gym bunnies (they wear that gym headbands on their heads and sweatpants and shirts to class),
(b) the hottie (full make up on for a 9.00 class. CHAMPION) and
(c) the local plain janes (PSU is very expensive for those who dont live in Pennsylvania so those who do come for Penn are relatively less financially endowed and thus just average in their dressing and looks as compared to the rich girls here. And u can seriosuly see the contrast!!)
(d) The Americanized asian chick - they look asian but dont speak like us! I'll work to perfecting my american accent!! hehe
(e) The fabulous Balck girls- they wear gd clothes but somehow dun feel cold.. unlike me in constant shover mode. :P
Ok, thats it for now!! more updates soooooonnn!!! Pray for my com! hahahha
